Rinhep Injection contains Heparin Sodium, a fast-acting anticoagulant used to prevent and treat blood clots. It is widely used in hospitals during surgeries, dialysis, and in the treatment of venous thromboembolism (VTE), pulmonary embolism, and other clotting disorders.

Uses / Indications
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)

Dosage & Administration
- Route: IV (intravenous) or SC (subcutaneous) only
- Initial Dosage (IV bolus): Typically 5,000 IU
- Maintenance Dose (IV infusion): 1,000 IU/hour or as per body weight
- Subcutaneous: 5,000 IU every 8–12 hours for prophylaxis
- Monitoring: Regular monitoring of aPTT (activated partial thromboplastin time) is essential during therapy
Precautions
- Active bleeding
- Severe thrombocytopenia
- Hypersensitivity to heparin or pork products
- Drug Interactions: Avoid concurrent use with NSAIDs, antiplatelet drugs, or other anticoagulants
- Pregnancy: Safe under medical supervision
- Antidote for Overdose: Protamine sulfate
